Job Purpose:
The Audio Engineer will prepare show audio requirements and operate equipment to integrate audio sources and create a full program mix for air.
Responsibilities:
Prepare audio operations technical infrastructure details for assigned shows Test and prepare television audio operations systems and equipment for use Edit music and sound effects within a short turnaround to air Mix multiple audio sources:
studio and remote host/guest microphones, music and sound effects for fast paced live programs Handle mic and IFB patching and routing for studio shows Work closely with Operations Management and Engineering to ensure all audio and comms equipment is meeting expectations Responsible for compliance with all applicable company policies Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience using audio consoles and television production intercom systems.
Minimum 2 years of television experience preparing and mixing audio for studio shows from concept to completion Minimum 3 years of experience in a live news and/or sports production control room environment (This is not a Post Production Audio position) Eligibility Requirements:
Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice Must be willing to work in San Francisco, CA Must be willing to submit to a background investigation Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States Must be 18 years or older Desired Characteristics Additional
Qualifications:
Expertise mixing audio for multiple program show formats and styles including news, talk shows, musical performances and special events Extensive knowledge of live TV production processes Extensive experience with SSL Audio Consoles Extensive experience with RTS Intercom systems and software Ability to think quickly, communicate well and keep pace with fast moving shows Strong client service and interpersonal skills and the ability to handle pressure in an on-air environment Knowledge of live news TV production processes Previous experience with INews newroom systems Advanced PC computer skills Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills Ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Source:
