SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Facility Services Manager, the SEASONAL Facilities Services Labor Specialist assists in installation and tear down of seasonal equipment, especially annual Christmas Light show lights and decor.
Responsibilities may also include assisting in maintenance of the facilities, equipment, and various mechanical systems for Turtle Bay's 300-acre campus.
The SEASONAL Facilities Services Labor Specialist will assist the other Technicians in day-to-day operations, especially related to seasonal events at the park.
II.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Follow instruction and efficiently complete daily tasks to ensure that lighting installation is completed according to schedule.
Assist with moving of light show equipment to location.
Assist with light string and light feature installation.
Assist with night testing of displays and other show features, replace bulbs and assist with repairs as needed.
Remove, organize, and pack away string light sets after Light Show season has ended.
Keep work materials and spaces neat and organized.
Assist with set up and installation tasks for light show, to include light and structure installation, and decoration.
Perform all work duties in compliance with established safety procedures.
Maintain a continuous awareness and knowledge of safe work practices including tools, protective equipment, and methods.
Assist other campus departments in setting up displays for Garden of Lights.
During event, help provide Facilities and technical support for event production.
May require flexible schedule for evening shifts during Garden of Lights.
Provide set-up and assistance for programs, events, meetings, building rentals and other functions.
Perform other duties as required to support the effective operation of Turtle Bay, its staff, security personnel, and its visitors.
Other duties as assigned.
III.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience with installation and basic electrical helpful.
Experience working in the construction or maintenance field is a plus.
IV.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Basic knowledge and operation of hand tools.
Ability to understand and follow oral instructions.
Strength and dexterity necessary to perform all required tasks, including lifting, stooping, bending, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor in a variety of weather conditions.
Ability to work at heights using ladders and lifts.
Availability to work a variable work schedule, which may include early and late hours, and weekends.
Employment contingent on passing a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
o WORKING CONDITIONS With a varying frequency of 3 to 8
hours, position will require balancing; bending; climbing; operating controls buttons, knobs, pedals, levers, and cranks; fine finger manipulation; kneeling; carrying or lifting (between 25-100 lbs.
); power grasping; pulling; pushing; simple grasping; sitting; squatting; standing; twisting; and walking.
Technician will also be working with or around job related chemicals and at times need to work from heights of approximately twenty feet on a ladder, raised platform, or building roof.
Ability to work outside in different weather conditions.
