The City of Redding Electric Utility is establishing an eligibility list to fill a full-time Electric Program Supervisor-Customer Service vacancy in the Customer Services Group, as well as subsequent vacancies that occur during the life of the list.
Redding Electric Utility (REU) is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to provide supervision and leadership to staff.
This supervisory position will provide operational oversight of the collection of revenue for services provided by the City Utilities and associated functions, including customer call and walk-in centers and the billing office.
We are looking for someone to Provide supervision, coaching, evaluation, and training of assigned staff.
Provide daily operational oversight to the collection of revenue for all City utilities.
This includes daily oversight of the Division's walk-in and call centers and back-office billing.
Evaluate and oversee the use of existing technologies within the Division.
Oversee the work involved in resolving customer concerns related to utility billing.
Coordinate the work of assigned staff by establishing and implementing procedures for quality control and efficiency Qualifications we're looking for Knowledge of all aspects of operational oversight of the collection of revenue for services provided by the City Utilities and associated functions, including customer call and walk-in centers, and billing office within the Customer Services Division Knowledge of technology systems, solutions, and requirements Knowledge of report writing Knowledge of bid specifications preparation Ability to interact effectively with the public, customers, vendors, and other staff Ability to research, analyze and determine the most effective development environment and technology platform Ability to understand and fully leverage all staff and technology resources Ability to provide professional leadership and direction in all areas of assigned responsibility Ability to plan and implement business process/program solutions Education, Experience, and Special Requirements:
Any combination of training, experience or education that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
Typical education would include a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent, in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a related field and three years of relevant supervisory experience; OR high school diploma or equivalent, and seven years of relevant experience in the operational and revenue related activities of the utility customer service industry, three years of which include supervisory experience.
Must possess the appropriate California driver's license, or the ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.

Holidays:
An average of thirteen and a half per year.
Fire Association covered employees receive a payment in lieu of holidays.
Holiday compensation for Redding Peace Officers Association and Redding Police Managers Association employees has been converted to base pay.
Vacation:
Two weeks per year up to the fourth year of service, three weeks up to nine years of service, three and a half weeks up to fourteen years of service, four weeks up to nineteen years of service, four and a half weeks up to twenty-four years of service, five weeks after twenty-four years of service.

Part-time and temporary employees may be eligible for some vacation/paid time off benefits.
Sick Leave:
Twelve working days of sick leave are accrued each year.
Unused sick leave may be credited toward retirement.
For accrual rates for Fire Department shift employees, refer to MOU.
Health Insurance:
Excellent medical, dental, vision, and life for employee and dependent, and long-term disability for employees.
Retirement:
Full-time employees are covered by CalPERS (formula is dependent on hire date and member status in CalPERS) and are not covered under the Social Security System.
Administrative Leave:
Management positions are eligible to receive 40 hours of administrative leave per calendar year as authorized by the department director; additional leave up to 40 hours may be granted by the City Manager.
Deferred Compensation Plans:
Available for interested employees.
Union Dues:
Job classifications in the unrepresented group do not pay union dues.
Part-Time Retirement Benefit Program:
Part-time, seasonal, and full-time temporary employees either participate in the Social Security System or the PARS Alternate Retirement System depending upon bargaining unit assignment.
SDI:
Unrepresented positions do not participate in SDI.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
