Responsibilities Position
Summary:
Under direction of the Materials Management Manager/Supervisor receives and distributes hospital equipment supplies and mail.
Prepares equipment and supplies for shipping as needed.
Performs daily counts of par-level locations via hand-held technology approved supply storage system or materials management information system.
Performs data entry of stock items issued from inventory.
Maintains hospital inventory and materials management work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
Participates in inventory/cycle counting process per department procedure.
Core Duties:
Performs automated requisitioning order construction order confirmation stock transfer and other daily tasks for inventory procurement via the Materials Management Information System Assists departments with profiles and inventory requests which includes coordinating proper stock keeping schemes and locations with corresponding staff in user departments and preparation of periodic reports for departmental expense accounting inventory usage turnover and budget preparation as directed Reviews (and revises if appropriate) re-ordering techniques and parameters for perpetual stock maximizing inventory utilization while minimizing stock outages Conducts inventory of nursing supply carts and supplies as needed Verifies receipt of material against the suppliers packing slip and the receiving copy of the purchase order to determine that there are no discrepancies as appropriate Upon receipt checks the quantity of packages and weights against the shippers manifest as appropriate Inspects and records the condition of containers which includes detecting and noting any damage and notifying the appropriate people Records shortages overages and incorrect and damaged material on the receiving report and reorders any missing items which includes recording the serial number on the receiving report when equipment is received Stores all incoming goods on a daily basis as appropriate which includes reviewing supply availability against requisitions and usage and makes delivery adjustments to accommodate departmental needs Delivers items to designated areas and has the recipient sign the receiving report as appropriate Brings back outdated overstock and inventory from nursing areas as appropriate which includes bringing back all cardboard boxes from units Rotates perishable stock on floors and in Distribution Area as requested Assists in year-end and spot cycle inventory counts as needed Maintains a clean working area which includes keeping supplies off of floors and utilizing overstock shelves properly Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in a professional manner Qualifications Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Meets minimum competencies of Materials Management Tech I Three to six months of inventory management experience An understanding of large ERP systems Valid state driver license Competent in Microsoft Word Outlook and basic computer operations Ability to communicate verbally and in written form in English.
Good numerical skills a must Sound customer service techniques and practices ability to communicate in a professional and articulate manner with internal and external partners at all levels both verbal and written remain calm and courteous while handling problems comfortable as a team member and informational leader knowledge of Materials Management Preferred
Qualifications:
Six to twelve months related work experience in a hospital stockroom or warehouse Forklift operation certification and/or experience Pay Range $28.
53 - $31.
82 /hour.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
