Job Description THE CALIFORNIA PARKS COMPANY Position:
Corporate Controller Reports to:
Chief Financial Officer JOB
Summary:
The primary role of the Corporate Controller is to contribute to the success of the finance departments by performing administrative support and tasks.
The Corporate Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and works with all members of these teams.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Review G/L coding of all transactions ensuring they are booked properly.
Hiring, coaching, mentoring, teaching, managing, and reviewing the accounting team.
Assisting and learning each of the tasks of the staff accountants to be their back-up if necessary.
Assisting in the successful completion of audits.
This includes work paper preparation and handling questions.
Ensuring reconciliations of the bank accounts and other Balance Sheet accounts are performed monthly.
Review and modify internal controls to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
Assist CFO with any job duties necessary for the success of the Accounting Department.
Assist in establishing economic objectives and policies.
Oversee financial forecasting and budgeting processes.
Year-end processing and audit of 401k plan Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local corporate, payroll and other taxes.
Anticipate the needs of Company Ownership, CFO, and other Senior Management Maintain compliance with the above job description for all areas Assist CFO and other Senior Management with any job duties necessary for the success of the department Serve as active member of corporate Senior Management Team
Qualifications:
Required:
BA/BS Degree with emphasis in accounting.
8-10 years minimum of progressively responsible corporate accounting experience including staff supervision Exceptional computer skills with accounting software and in the operation and functioning of all programs used by Microsoft Office with proficiency in Excel Preferred:
CPA Relevant industry experience working for a small to medium sized growth-oriented company in a hospitality/recreation based, high- transaction environment Click here to apply.
